Aftercare Advice
What to do, what to avoid, and when to get in touch. Keep this page bookmarked after your appointment.

After anti-wrinkle injections
Stay upright for four hours and avoid lying flat or face down. Do not rub, massage or apply pressure to the treated area for twenty four hours, or sleep face down. No facials for two weeks.
Avoid the gym and hot yoga for twenty four hours, and alcohol for the rest of the day. No saunas, steam rooms or heat treatments to the face for two weeks. Keep out of strong sun and heat.
Gentle exercise of the treated muscles in the first hour, such as frowning and raising your brows a few times, is fine and may help uptake. Expect the first effects at three to five days and the full result at two weeks. Your review appointment is booked then.
After dermal filler
Swelling is normal and lips swell the most, often looking considerably fuller for the first twenty four to forty eight hours. Do not judge your result before two weeks.
Use a cool compress rather than direct ice, sleep slightly elevated for the first two nights, and avoid makeup over the area for twelve hours. No gym for forty eight hours, no saunas, steam rooms or facials for two weeks, and no dental work for two weeks where possible.
Small firm areas as it settles are normal. Do not massage unless you have specifically been asked to.
After skin treatments
Following microneedling, expect redness and warmth like mild sunburn for twenty four to forty eight hours, and light flaking around day three. No makeup for twenty four hours, no gym or swimming for forty eight.
SPF 50 every day for at least two weeks is not optional. Skin that has been stimulated to remodel is vulnerable to UV, and sun exposure now can cause lasting pigmentation.
After Profhilo or polynucleotides, small raised bumps at the injection points are expected and settle within a few hours. Avoid makeup and exercise until the following day.
