Not every tired under eye is a hollow. Very often the skin itself is the problem. It is the thinnest skin on the body, it holds little collagen, and as it thins further the bluish tissue beneath begins to show through as a dark circle no concealer quite covers.
Filler cannot solve this. Placing gel under skin that is thin and crepey often makes it look worse, adding a bluish cast or puffiness. What that skin needs is repair, which is exactly what Lumi Eyes is designed for.

What it actually is
Lumi Eyes is a polynucleotide treatment, made from purified DNA fragments derived from salmon, which are remarkably compatible with human tissue. Injected in a series of tiny points around the eye, they act as a signal to your fibroblasts to get back to work.
The skin responds by producing collagen, improving its own hydration and increasing microcirculation. Better circulation is a large part of why dark circles lift, since much of that darkness is stagnant blood flow in thin tissue.
There is no volume added and no risk of the puffy, filled appearance. What changes is the quality of the skin itself, which is why the result looks like being well rested rather than like having had something done.
The course
Polynucleotides work cumulatively. The standard course is three treatments spaced two to three weeks apart, and results build across them rather than appearing after the first.
Most people notice the area looking brighter and less crepey from around week three, with the full effect visible about a month after the final session. Results last six to nine months, and a single maintenance treatment twice a year usually holds it.
The treatment itself takes half an hour. Numbing cream is applied first and the injections are very superficial. Small raised bumps appear immediately and settle within a few hours, so it is best not to book it for the morning of an event.

Combining it
Lumi Eyes and tear trough filler are not competing treatments and are often best done together in a planned sequence. Where there is both a genuine hollow and poor skin quality, we typically treat the skin first with polynucleotides, then reassess whether filler is still needed.
Frequently it is not, or far less is needed than expected. Improving the skin alone resolves a surprising proportion of under eye complaints.

What to expect
Lumi Eyes step by step
Before and during your treatment
- A thorough consultation before your first treatment, during which your medical history is discussed and recorded so any contraindication is picked up before anything is drawn up
- Your lifestyle is discussed too, so expectations are managed honestly from the outset
- The procedure is explained clearly, step by step
- You and Natalja look at your reflection together, and she shows you how the result will be achieved
- Photographs are taken for your clinical record only, never used publicly without separate written consent
- You are made comfortable on the treatment couch and the area is cleansed
- You are shown the product, and the batch or vial number is recorded on your consultation form
- Natalja talks you through every step as she works, so nothing happens without warning
- The treatment is not painful. You may feel the insertion of a very fine needle
- Every effort is made to avoid side effects, and the possible ones are discussed with you at consultation
After your treatment
- Stay upright for four hours immediately after treatment
- No exercise for 48 hours
- No saunas, steam rooms or heat treatments to the face for 2 weeks
- No facials for 2 weeks
- Have treatment at least two weeks before a holiday or an event, so the result has time to reach its full effect
- Aftercare is discussed with you, and a PDF of the leaflet is emailed to you
- You are given the chance to look in the mirror before you leave
- A review appointment is made to check you have the result you wanted, with photographs taken for your record
What age can I have treatment?
We are aware of the power of influence and the harm it can do. We are happy to treat clients from the age of 21, provided we are confident it is in their best interest after a thorough consultation.
If Natalja is not confident about a request, we reserve the right to refuse treatment. We are sorry if that disappoints anyone, but the decision is only ever made for your safety.
Treatments that work well alongside
We offer a range of treatments that complement one another, including skin boosters to plump and freshen the skin, anti-wrinkle injections, polynucleotides, and dermal fillers for the cheeks, temples, tear troughs, lips, chin and jawline. That lets us build a bespoke plan rather than selling you a single treatment, and it is usually a combination that produces the result people actually want.
If you are looking for the latest and most trusted aesthetic treatments in London, Face Code Aesthetic is ready to welcome you.
Questions
Frequently asked
No, and they solve different problems. Filler replaces lost volume in a hollow. Lumi Eyes repairs thin, crepey, poorly circulated skin. If your under eye issue is skin quality or a dark circle rather than a shadow cast by a hollow, this is the correct treatment.
It improves circles caused by thin skin and sluggish microcirculation, which is the most common type. Circles caused by genuine pigmentation respond less well and are better addressed with a skin regime, which we would discuss at consultation.
Three, spaced two to three weeks apart. A single session gives a fraction of the result, so the course is the treatment rather than an upsell.
Yes. Polynucleotides are highly purified fragments with the proteins removed, and the molecular structure is close enough to human DNA to be well tolerated. They have been used in regenerative medicine and wound healing for many years.
